Painted by John Dyer in 2003 during a weeks painting residency with singer and rock star Kim Wilde. The painting captures the colours and textures of late summer in the English countryside with crows and wild grasses adding movement, and capturing the warm summer breeze.
At the end of Kim's garden is a wonderful meadow, that by late August is full of dried grasses. A path is cut through the grass and the rest is left for birds and wildlife. I sat amongst the grasses to paint this view looking back towards Kim's barn. The rich yellow golden sky with orange grasses and deep blues create a wonderful feel of warmth.
