We provide a complimentary delivery service with our selected courier companies for items purchased online from The John Dyer Gallery for all our customers around the world.
We have many clients based in the UK, EU, USA, Australia, and other worldwide destinations. We carefully pack everything we send.
Some of our shipping providers don't support orders bound for military installations (US or British): BFPO (British Forces Post Office) or APO (Army Post Office). In such cases, customers need to provide an alternative shipping address or please contact us first before placing your order so we can check if we can deliver to the address.
Original paintings are sent from the UK using the export and commodity code 9701910000
Our collectable limited edition art prints are sent with commodity code 9702000000 as these are collector's items.
These export/commodity codes typically entitle goods to be free of import duties (not necessarily VAT) in most countries. Still, the border and point of import decision is outside our control.
Other items, such as books, have different codes applied, such as 4911990000, and we advise you to check the regulations in your country for imports.
Our EORI number is GB785269480000.
N.B. You should check the details for your specific location to be aware of any additional import or VAT fees that could apply, as you will be liable to pay these locally at your expense. Unless we expressly state otherwise, international orders are sent with any applicable import VAT, taxes, duties and customs charges payable by the recipient.
Prints: Unframed prints and art posters are shipped in sturdy cardboard tubes via the Royal Mail. Framed art posters are packed in boxes that provide all the protection required to travel safely on UPS, DPD, TNT, Parcelforce, DHL or other couriers.
Paintings: Our original paintings are individually packed with bubble wrap, and we cut wooden hardboards to cover each painting surface to provide extra protection.
We often use a specialist art courier who provides a point-to-point delivery service for our larger paintings, which are delivered in the UK.
Very large original paintings being exported have crates built for them by a specialist art courier before despatch.
All of these options are provided complimentary to all our buyers around the world.
We will get your order to you as soon as we can.
If it will take us longer than eight working days to despatch your order, we will contact you to keep you informed. Once dispatched, the Royal Mail now takes between 1 and 3 days to deliver unframed prints and smaller framed art posters. Once we have packaged large framed art posters and original paintings, they are sent via courier and should arrive within three days from despatch unless you are an international buyer.
If you need your items delivered urgently, please telephone us on 01326 735 016. We will take your order over the phone and discuss the options before you purchase.
If you live out of the UK delivery will take a little longer. You can always call us on +44 (0) 1326 735 016 and we can take payment and arrange delivery over the phone. We accept all major credit and debit cards including Amex.
Customers are responsible for providing a complete and accurate delivery address, telephone number and email address when placing an order.
Original paintings, signed limited edition prints and other high-value artworks will normally require somebody to be available to receive and sign for the delivery.
Once an order has been dispatched, customers are responsible for cooperating reasonably with the John Dyer Gallery, our shipping agents, couriers and, where applicable, customs authorities so that delivery can be completed.
This includes responding promptly to delivery notifications, telephone calls, emails, requests to arrange a delivery time, requests for customs information and any other reasonable communication required to complete delivery.
If you know that you will not be available, please contact us or the courier promptly so that alternative delivery arrangements can be made where possible.
A failed, refused or uncollected delivery does not by itself constitute cancellation of an order.
If you wish to cancel an order and have a legal right to do so, you must clearly notify the John Dyer Gallery that you are exercising that right. Statutory cancellation rights may not apply to commissioned, personalised, bespoke or custom-made artworks and other goods made to the customer’s specifications.
Simply failing to respond to the courier, refusing or failing to arrange delivery, being unavailable to receive the goods, or allowing a shipment to be returned to us does not, by itself, constitute notice of cancellation.
If delivery cannot be completed because the customer, or somebody acting on their behalf:
the courier may hold, redirect or ultimately return the goods to the John Dyer Gallery. We may also instruct the courier to do so where appropriate.
Where goods are returned to the John Dyer Gallery for one of these reasons, we will contact the customer to make appropriate arrangements. Where the order has not been lawfully cancelled, this will normally involve arranging redelivery.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the customer will be responsible for reasonable additional costs directly resulting from a failed, refused or uncollected delivery. These may include return carriage, courier surcharges, customs handling charges, storage costs and subsequent redelivery.
Where the original order qualified for our complimentary worldwide delivery service, complimentary delivery applies to the original delivery. It does not necessarily extend to return carriage or subsequent redelivery where the original delivery failed because the customer did not reasonably cooperate with the delivery process.
We may require payment of reasonable additional delivery-related costs and confirmation of suitable delivery arrangements before dispatching the goods again.
For original paintings and other high-value artworks, we reserve the right to require confirmation of the delivery address, recipient contact details and confirmation that somebody will be available to receive and sign for the shipment before arranging redelivery.
Where goods are returned to and physically held by the John Dyer Gallery following an unsuccessful delivery, this does not by itself cancel the contract, constitute a refund, or mean that the customer has relinquished their rights in the purchased goods. Unless and until the contract is lawfully cancelled, terminated, refunded or otherwise resolved, we will continue to hold the goods on behalf of the customer while reasonable arrangements are made for their delivery.
Customers outside the United Kingdom are responsible for cooperating promptly with the courier and their local customs authorities where information, documentation or payment is required to clear and deliver a shipment.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, any applicable import VAT, local taxes, duties, customs handling charges or similar charges imposed by the destination country are the responsibility of the customer.
If an international shipment is returned to the John Dyer Gallery because the customer has not responded to courier or customs communications, has not supplied information required for clearance, has not paid applicable charges, or has otherwise failed to cooperate with delivery, this will be treated as a failed delivery under the terms above.
The physical return of an artwork to the John Dyer Gallery following a failed delivery does not, by itself, cancel the customer’s purchase. Unless the contract is subsequently lawfully cancelled, terminated, refunded or otherwise resolved, the artwork will continue to be held for the customer pending suitable arrangements for redelivery.
We are sure you will be delighted with the art you purchase from us and look forward to hearing from you soon.
Best wishes from the John Dyer Gallery.
