This Cornwall painting is a piece of original art painted with acrylic on canvas with gold and silver leaf by Cornish artist John Dyer.
The amazing landscape of Penwith in Cornwall and its rich and mysterious ancient history has inspired this new painting from artist John Dyer. The painting is of Lanyon Quoit and the tin mines, bringing together the bronze age, tin mining and contemporary ages into one painting.
A couple relax on the soft grass that surrounds the quoit and gaze at the magical star spangled sky that illuminates the scene. Gold and silver leaf has been applied to the surface of the painting to make it light up as one moves past it. The painting catches the light, literally twinkling like the stars and the silver leaf is used to illuminate Lanyon Quoit too.
Cornish choughs and seagulls join the narrative and shooting stars, resembling ancient green stone axe heads, fly through the sky allowing us to dream, imagine and navigate our way through time in our minds.
A stunning painting that captures so much of Cornwall's history and magic.
To protect the painting's gilding it has been varnished with a two layer protective gloss UV varnish and is supplied framed and ready to hang.
