Joanne Short

Original Oil Painting of Provence by Joanne Short. Provençal Poppies.

Joanne Short travels to Provence to paint on a regular basis. She has a studio in the south of France for three years & this painting was painted while the artist ws immersed in the provençal landscape surrounded by iris, poppies, orange trees and vines. The artist's use of line to create form by applying simple brush strokes is perfect for this landscape painting. A unique and beautiful painting.

"This painting takes me straight to the hillsides of Provence and its smells, colours and flavours. Oranges hang from the trees while poppies and iris reach towards the cloudless blue sky. In the valley are olive groves and grape covered vines cover the hillsides behind. In the background is the iconic Mont Ventoux towering above the landscape below." Joanne Short.
