Nixiwaka Yawanawá

Nixiwaka Yawanawá Painting. Nawê. Amazon Rainforest Spirits

Painted by Amazon Indian Nixiwaka Yawanawá. This unique painting explores the tribal culture of the Yawanawá people of the Brazillian Amazon & shows the snuff taking ceremony. During the ceremony Nixiwaka had a vision of a jaguar appearing and merging with a boa constrictor which then exploded with energy to form a spiritual shaman. A remarkable insight into tribal culture and a new genre of art.
