Joanne Short

A Slice of Tuscany, Italy. Un Spicchio di Toscana. Original Painting by Joanne Short

This 'Slice of Tuscany' is as beautiful as a piece of Italian polenta cake. Daisies and poppies wave in the breeze in the foreground with pale green olive groves in the background. A tiny tuscan hamlet peeps over the top of the olives giving us a tiny taste of what the Italian countryside is all about.

This is a remarkable painting by British artist Joanne Short. painted on location in Italy in the landscape of Tuscany. It takes an extreme view by slicing vertically through the landscape. We are given a narrow view into this world, but a rich and glorious view too. Poppies and daisies weave up the composition to the olive trees and hillside village. A perfect glimpse of Italy and a joy to view.
