Painting Description
"This is one of my most unique paintings and a piece of art, BBC and gardening history. I painted it during my residency for BBC Gardeners' World Live while talking to Alan Titchmarsh in front of an audience of around 400 people! My aim was to allow the TV cameras to see the creative process as I captured the essence of the event & Alan himself on the main stage. I love the sunflowers and all the people. A great experience & fun painting."

Artist John Dyer was invited by BBC Gardeners' World Live to be the artist in residence for the 2004 exhibition. John spent several days working on site on a series of new paintings exploring the essence of this spectacular garden show.John painted many of the show gardens and the RHS floral marquee. John also spoke live to an audience with Alan Titchmarsh about his work and his interest in painting and plants. This painting was painted live in front of an audience while John and Alan discussed painting and planting.
The painting is featured in the book 'Painting the Colours of the World' by Kate Dinn which has a foreword by Alan Titchmarsh.
