JOHN DYER is one of Britain’s leading and best known contemporary painters. His work embraces colour and the ‘Song of Life’.
There is an innocence and freshness to John Dyer’s art that follows a tradition in Cornwall that includes the work of Alfred Wallis, Christopher Wood, Fred Yates and Bryan Pearce. Rather than trying to record what he sees, John sets out to capture the ‘essence’ of his subIct.
His unique way of working has attracted leading organisations and individual collectors to his work.
The Eden Project, many environmental organisations working for the United Nations, and others have asked John to be artist in residence for them.
Celebrities including Kim Wilde, Toyah Willcox and Alan Titchmarsh are also collectors of the artist’s work and have worked on projects with him.
His work hangs in the permanent collections of Save the Children UK,The Eden Project, Falmouth Art Gallery, The National Trust, The Royal Cornwall Hospital Trust and has been purchased by the Heritage Lottery Fund for the nation.
In 2005 John established The John Dyer Gallery which is now one of the UK’s leading contemporary online art galleries with a unique programme of exhibitions and community projects.
