A Mixed Bunch Exhibition at Falmouth Art Gallery- Ted Dyer, Joanne Short, Fred Yates

The John Dyer Gallery is delighted to have been able to support the latest public Falmouth Art Gallery exhibition “A Mixed Bunch”.

The gallery has loaned Falmouth Art Gallery three important paintings from the collection including ‘Lavender Time Provence’ by Ted Dyer, ‘Mounts Bay Moon’ by Joanne Short, and a stunning and very rare still life by artist Fred Yates which is part of the John Dyer Gallery permanent collection.

All three of these paintings are currently on display in the gallery and the exhibition runs until 26th June 2010.

The Ted Dyer painting is available for sale from The John Dyer Gallery at £3950 and the Joanne Short is also available at £455.

“CORNWALL boasts some of the finest gardens in the country. Falmouth Art Gallery is celebrating the coming of spring with ‘A mixed bunch’, a blooming marvellous exhibition featuring floral art from Cornish collections. 

On show will be Carnations by Henry Scott Tuke RA, recently presented to the Royal Cornwall Polytechnic Society by George Bednar. Also featuring will be works by: Grace Gardner, Isobel Heath, Penny Macbeth, Henri Matisse, Kenneth Newton, Sir Roland Penrose, John Ward CBE, J.W. Waterhouse, Marjorie Williams, Ted DyerJoanne Short and Gwen Whicker to name a few. 

The gallery has planned an exciting programme of FREE workshops and events to accompany the exhibition. Family workshops take place every Saturday, just drop in from 2 – 3 pm. Activities include: ‘Rag Rug Jitterbug’ weaving, satin painting, floral felt making and ‘lift off’ painting. 
‘A mixed bunch’, is part of a series of exhibitions celebrating the rich artistic heritage of The Fal area funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund, and in association with University College Falmouth incorporating Dartington College of Arts and Izella Rose Florists. 

It will be on display from 24 April – 26 June 2010.

The gallery is open Monday to Saturday 10 am – 5 pm. 

Admission is free”
