This week saw the final judging take place at the National Maritime Museum Cornwall of the Darwin200 Big Art competition.
The 24 winning pictures from the John Dyer BIG Darwin 200 Art Exhibition and Competition have today been reprinted and framed for public display in the prestigious Falmouth Art Gallery.
Today was the first of a four day residency by famous Cornish Artist John Dyer as part of the DARWIN 200 celebrations.
Visitors will have the opportunity to watch John Dyer at work during his four day residency at Newquay Zoo from the 23rd to the 26th July (weather permitting).
During May 2009 CIP hosted the UK artist John Dyer in Peru while he visited the Potato Park in Pisac, and Puno and Lake Titicaca, to paint scenes of the Peruvian potato harvest, life surrounding potatoes in the Andes and the potato festival in Taquile.
Exhibited with the ballet dancers during the "Palais de Cristal" Menton Ballet June 2009 to the music "Symphony in C Mayor" by G. Bizet. Directed by Jérôme Chretien
In a workshop led over three days by artist Joanne Short the children completed a set of charcoal drawings of the town of Menton in France from life. The children worked on individual drawings, a collaborative montage drawing, a large painted backdrop based on their montage and the piece which features on this poster constructed from buildings made by individual children.
John Dyer has been asked by Girlguiding South West England to complete an important new celebration painting for the centenary of the guides in 2010.
Cornish World Magazine are featuring John Dyer’s Book - A Vision of Paradise.
