The Galerie Monaco Vernissage in Menton this evening was very well attended. Collectors from Italy, France, Monaco and the UK attended the event.

RACING AROUND IN MONACO

The Monaco Grand Prix is a world famous event, and one that we think of most weeks when we visit the principality in our trusty old Land Rover ! The Monaco Grad Prix arrives in May, but Monaco is a unique destination at all times of the year.

All the Girlguides (over 600 of them!) who entered the centenary art exhibition and competition have all been awarded this fabulous large embroidered John Dyer badge which was commissioned by the Girlguides to commemorate the event.

Full of heightened life and colour, John’s work offers a striking contrast to the calm, subtle hues of Godfrey’s work. Born in Cornwall into an artistic family, John is painter-in-residence at the Eden Project and has been involved in a large number of community and environmental projects. It is this enthusiasm that led him to the National Trust. ‘The fun and energy that people display in the maze at Glendurgan Garden is the real attraction for me. I visit the garden regularly with my family and we all enjoy rushing around, finding our way into and back out of the maze. The garden is full of happy noises and shrieks, all set in the most magnificent sub-tropical valley garden setting.’

John Dyer’s 'Zooing Around' Darwin painting to be exhibited at public art gallery. The painting was purchased by Falmouth Art Gallery for their permanent collection last year, but this is the first time the painting will have been put on public display. The painting also features on the banner hanging outside the art gallery.
