British artists John Dyer and Joanne Short have been inspiring French children on the Îles de Lérins near Cannes.
The artists led a workshop on the island and the children painted an actual optimist sail with an image inspired by the landscape and biodiversity of the island.
Each child also completed their own individual painting on a sail shaped piece of paper.
The final sail is now on display in the school back in Menton.
“The children really focused on this project, we asked them to look at elements from the landscape - plants, palms, boats, insects and to paint an element from life onto the large collaborative painted sail. The result is stunning and they all worked really hard.” John Dyer.
The project was funded by Galerie Monaco and the artists.
