Joanne Short

River Melody, Helford River, Cornwall. Original Oil Painting by Joanne Short

This delightful oil painting from Joanne Short is a rare example of her larger paintings. The image is beautiful and creates an air of tranquility and relaxation. The view across the Helford river creates a great sense of space with an expanse of blue sea broken up by the pink hydrangeas, foxgloves and plants. The flowers are complemented by the pink sky. A perfect glimpse of Cornwall.

This important oil by Joanne Short has been selected to be included on an historic banner that is on public display in Falmouth during 2012. The banner showcases the best Cornish art connected to Falmouth and includes works from Tuke, Kurt Jackson, John Dyer and many others.
