Paintings of Gardens

Original Oil and Acrylic Paintings of Gardens

John Dyer and Joanne Short have explored many private and famous public gardens and were the featured artists for the ITV television series 'The Painted Garden'.

The artists have completed painting residencies for Tresco Abbey Gardens in the Isles of Scilly, the Hanbury Gardens in Italy and have lived on St Michael's Mount while painting the sub-tropical gardens that can be found there.

John Dyer has been the artist in residence for the Eden Project from 2001 to the present. His paintings of Eden are known the world over through his many published posters and art cards that have been produced. The artist has also had exclusive access to Alan Titchmarsh's garden Barleywood and spent a week painting with Alan in the garden.

The garden of Kim Wilde has also been a rich subject for John Dyer with the wonderful espalier fruit trees and garden produce that Kim loves to grow.

John Dyer was appointed by the BBC as their artist in residence for the Gardeners' World Live exhibition in Birmingham and painted many of the RHS exhibits and show gardens for the event. John Dyer and Alan Titchmarsh also gave a live talk at the event discussing 'Painting and Planting, a shared passion."

The National Trust owns a John Dyer painting of Glendurgan Garden in Cornwall that is on permanent public display at the garden. The Eden Project also owns a large John Dyer original.

Our artists are two of the most respected contemporary painters in the UK exploring the colour, form, and magic of the garden and the original paintings we have for sale in the gallery are really very special works with amazing stories to tell.
