The Falmouth Oyster Festival painted by Cornish Artist John Dyer

The Falmouth Oyster Festivalhas been opened today and part of the opening event featured artist John Dyer and his new painting 'Falmouth Oyster Festival Parade' which is also available as a signed limited edition print celebrating the Falmouth Oyster Festival.

The painting features ‘Arlo’, a giant puppet that has been built through a collaborative community project run by John Frankland, John Dyer and the Oyster Festival.

‘Arlo’ was designed by Katie Phelps, an 11 year old school girl from Falmouth. Katie’s design won the competition that John Dyer helped to judge. John then included her puppet in the official Falmouth Oyster Festival painting and limited edition print.

Katie was presented with a signed and framed limited edition print of the Falmouth Oyster Festival by artist John Dyer on stage at the opening ceremony. See more pictures of the opening and artist John Dyer on stage at Falmouth Oyster Festival on this online album.
