Falmouth Art Gallery Buy Ted Dyer Original

As snow settles over Falmouth the Falmouth Art Gallery have acquired an important and rare painting by Falmouth based artist Ted Dyer.

Ted Dyer is one of Cornwall’s best known painters (and the father of artist John Dyer) and his work has been exhibited in the county for over forty years.

The artist’s work naturally sits at the center of the ‘Cornish Impressionists’ and is widely regarded as some of the most collectable of contemporary art in the county.

The painting that has been selected to go into the permanent collection by Brian Stewart, the director of the Falmouth Art Gallery is titled “Walking in a Snow Flurry, Falmouth” and is 10 x 12 inches oil on board.

It is a very rare painting of those fleeting moments when snow settles in Falmouth and features a lone figure and a dog on Gyllyngvase Beach.

It is a very atmospheric piece of work and captures the magic of a snowy day on the south coast. The painting can be seen on request at the gallery and will also be exhibited in a range of exhibitions in forthcoming years.
