The Sunrise Centre is the oncology (cancer) centre covering the whole of Cornwall. It is based at the Royal Cornwall Hospital in Truro and opened in 2002.

Radiotherapy manager Philippa Robins was keen to extend the existing exhibition of John Miller works into the extended part of the building and approached The John Dyer Gallery to see if the John Dyer would be happy to discuss the possibilities.

“I am delighted that my work will be hanging in the Sunrise Centre. I know myself that paintings have a great power to bring calm and suppress anxiety.  I hope that my three paintings will bring some warmth to those patients and relatives who ,through circumstances beyond their control, will spend time with them.” John Dyer
