We all spend a large amount of time preparing food in our kitchens and eating food from around the world from our tables. So what better place to hang a painting of an amazing food story than in your kitchen?
Artist John Dyer has travelled around the world in search of amazing food stories and subjects to paint. He has been asked to paint the United Nations Year of Rice in the Philippines and the Potato harvest with its unique festival in Peru, as well as the banana and cacao harvests in Costa Rica.
The resulting canvases are filled with unique stories, colours and biodiversity. The paintings link to rice, banana, chocolate, coconut, papaya, pineapple, and more. One of the Peruvian paintings is of a kitchen with a traditional family preparing their food.
Rice terraces and water buffalo, swaying coconut trees, the heat and bright light of the rice harvest and the rich greens of freshly harvested bananas in Costa Rica can all be found in the new collection.
Each of John Dyer’s ‘Crops’ paintings is an acrylic on canvas at 24 x 24 inches square. With the frame they are larger and are the perfect size for kitchens or dining rooms.
