Artists Joanne Short and John Dyer were asked by a main primary school in Menton, France to join the children and teachers on the Îles de Lérins, an island off the coast of Cannes, to inspire the children to paint and participate in a large collaborative major canvas.
“This was a real challenge for us as the workshop had to be run in French, but we found that our visual language was quickly picked up by the children who produced over thirty paintings and the large final canvas.”
The final painting will be presented to the school and hung on permanent display for the children to enjoy.
(A big thank you to Damien and Maree for the baby-sitting !)
