It's that time of year to buy your Christmas cards and this year we have packs of John Dyer cards that are supporting our favourite charity Survival International.
Survival International is the global movement for tribal peoples' rights and is the only organisation that champions tribal peoples around the world. They help tribal people to defend their lives, protect their lands and determine their own futures. Long before the word “conservation” was coined, tribal peoples developed highly effective measures for maintaining the richness of their environment. They have sophisticated codes of conservation to stop overhunting and preserve biodiversity, so this organisation is playing a fundamental role in all our lives as the consequences of climate change become a reality. https://www.survivalinternational.org
John Dyer has been a longtime supporter of the charity and has actively given funds or worked alongside them from 1989 when the president of Survival, Robin Hanbury-Tenison OBE, helped the artist to put together his expedition to the Amazon rainforest.
"I was absolutely delighted to agree to Survival publishing two of my paintings as Christmas cards for 2018. My recent project with Survival International and Amazon Indian Nixiwaka Yawanawá has brought me closer to the charity again and I recently attended a lovely Survival International event in London to meet Quentin Blake who also donates his work to be published by the charity as cards. The two paintings Survival chose are perfect for Christmas cards and the packs are only £5.99 for ten cards which is excellent value. ALL the money will be going to Survival International, so please buy lots of them and send them to all of your friends. Inside the cards, there is a 'Season's Greetings' message in 5 languages which perfectly captures the spirit of Christmas and how we all need to work together on our small planet and accept each other's cultures, strengths and differences."
