Pop up art exhibition on the King Harry Ferry

This summer, the King Harry Ferry is exhibiting artwork by acclaimed local artists John Dyer and Joanne Short.

The series of prints, reminiscent of vintage 1930s travel posters, capture the subtropical beauty of the Roseland Peninsular. Bursting with colour, the artwork showcases the villages, beaches, and harbours that can be found on this spectacular area of coastline.

Cornwall is famed for it's amazing landscapes and talented painters, so the pop up exhibition on the King Harry Ferry this summer is a real treat. Featuring the acclaimed art of two of Cornwall's best loved artists, John Dyer & Joanne Short, the exhibition brings contemporary art into the heart of one of the most beautiful landscapes in the county.

Garrick Royle, Director of the King Harry Ferry comments,

“We are delighted to showcase the work of two such prestigious artists. The artwork brings great colour and life to the ferry, and really encapsulates the area’s extraordinary beauty.”

“We have spent the last 25 years travelling around the coast of Cornwall and painting the amazing places that we find. We love Cornwall and its beauty, colours, flowers and life that the county is bursting with. It is our inspiration to paint, to celebrate life and to bring the energy and optimism that we see to a wider audience. Our vintage style art posters allow us to reach that audience and to combine fabulous contemporary Cornish art with vintage typography to evoke a real sense of travel. To be able to exhibit a series of these works on the King Harry Ferry is just perfect. Travel poster art on a form of transport in one of the most beautiful parts of the world. We very much hope that the exhibition will bring sunshine and fun to all who view.” John Dyer and Joanne Short.

The pop up exhibition will be on display untill the end of September.
