The New Craftsman is the oldest gallery in St Ives. Originally established by Janet Leach, wife of Bernard Leach and an acclaimed potter in her own right in the 1960s, Janet was later joined by Mary "Boots" Redgrave as business partner. Boots in turn brought with her Michael Hunt as manager, a position he still holds.
The New Craftsman is currently owned by Paul and Ylenia Haase, who are delighted to be involved in such a fascinating Gallery.
This is the third small collection of John Dyer original paintings to be exhibited at the gallery in St Ives. The paintings are all of St Ives and the surrounding area.
"I love painting St Ives, the colours, stories and light. It's an amazing place and I always feel that holiday spirit when visiting this special place. St Ives has featured as a subject in my work for many years and I am delighted that my paintings are exclusively seen in St Ives in the best and most historic gallery of them all, The New Craftsman. Go to St Ives, drink in the atmosphere, grab a pasty and an icecream and then view my paintings at the New Craftsman or maybe take one home with you to keep that holiday moment for ever. Enjoy."John Dyer 2015
