Falmouth Carnival. Darwin 200. Joanne Short Workshops.

Falmouth Art Gallery organised a colourful display for the walking carnival in Falmouth today.

Artists, staff, volunteers and families joined Brian Stewart the gallery curator to parade through the town to celebrate Darwin.

Masks and shakers made during Heritage Lottery community workshops with artist Joanne Short added to the display and several of the team dressed up as Charles Darwin.

Artist Joanne Short took part in the workshops and the walking carnival. The children and adults dressed up as Charles Darwin or animals and artists to celebrate the major project that Falmouth Art Gallery ran for Darwin 200. Artist John Dyer was the artist in residence for Darwin 200 so Falmouth had a big connection to the event. Some of the children dressd up as John Dyer with seagulls painted on their faces.
