This Australian Art Print features a painting that John Dyer created in the Australian outback during his Banrock Station Wine residencyAn ancient Australian Mallee tree forms the subject for this stunning print by Banrock Station's artist in residence John Dyer. Intense red light illuminates the outback and complements the green parrots that fly across the sky and roost on the branches of the ancient tree. Ants can be seen in the dried bushes in the foreground and the shadows of the tree are purple and blue. Really stunning.

"Mallee trees are multi-stemmed eucalyptus trees that take several hundred years to form hollows. This oldest mallee tree on Banrock Station is probably 500 years old and is full of hollows that provide homes for insects, lizards, bats and parrots like the mallee ringneck. Occasionally the biggest lizards, the goanna, will enter the hollows to dine. Blue bush flourishes after rain in the mallee and the massive tree roots store water for survival during drought." Manager of Banrock Station, Australia.
