The John Dyer Galery is delighted to be a supporter of the Battersea Arts Centre artist bedrooms project.
As part of the Nation's Theatre and supported by the Guardian newspaper, Battersea Arts Centre has commissioned several performance companies to create artist bedrooms at the centre that will be on display to the public and used as places to stay and create by artists for the next five years.
'Hightidings' led by Emma Frankland and Myriddin Wannell created one of the bedrooms and as part of their performance undertook a procesion of the items for the bedroom and a giant pasty all the way from Truro to London.
"On the 4th April we awakened the rooms through song and story with The Pasty’s Progress.. a procession beginning at the Hall for Cornwall in Truro and wending it’s way to Battersea Arts Centre.."
John Dyer's vintage style art print of Falmouth has been selected to be part of the project and it will be on display in London for the next five years.
"Taking inspiration from the water that flooded through the Battersa Arts Centre a year ago, these rooms will have a beautiful rusting quality - the colours of the gorse, the mines and the seas..."
