Wow ! The Sun is out again and Falmouth is starting to unfurl ready for the Spring and Summer. I just love it !
Our house and studio are only a few hundred meters from the seafront in Falmouth, we are a very lucky family indeed to live in such a spectacular part of Cornwall and whenever the sun peeps out from behind the winter gloom I grab Digory our sausage dog and take a quick stroll along the seafront.
This morning the colours are really amazing. Deep blue sky and vivid green sub tropical plants and the occasional accent of bright colour from an early summer flower.
We all love to paint Falmouth. The fun of Castle beach and Gyllyngvase beach and the classic boats on the water. My walk takes me past Gyllyngdune Gardens and the wonderful bandstand which is always a great subject for an artist.
Today those boats are resting and the band isn't playing yet in the bandstand, we must wait for those summer days, but my mind is already full of the beautiful images to come and of happy days painting from previous painting days.
