Painting and Planting- Limited Edition Prints and Book launch
John Dyer, Eden's painter in residence, has teamed up with Alan Titchmarsh to produce a unique series of paintings exploring 'Barleywood' Alan's garden used for the BBC's Gardeners' World programme. John and Alan will be talking about how this work came about and how they found a common link to their enjoyment of the world through the wonder and visual spectacle of plants.
The evening will be the main launch event for the two limited edition prints by John of Alan's garden, which both the artist and Alan Titchmarsh have signed. These prints are being sold with a percentage of the profits going to 'Gardens for Schools' which Alan and his wife Alison set up to enable schools to build much needed gardens.
After the talk there will be an opportunity to meet and talk to both John and Alan and to purchase copies of Alan's new autobiography 'Trowel and Error' which Alan will be able to sign on request. The 'Barleywood' limited editions will also be available for purchase on the evening and there will be an opportunity to have personal messages added to the reverse of the prints by the artist John Dyer.
This really is a unique event and is the very first time that Alan Titchmarsh has given a talk at the project so we are expecting a very exciting and busy evening indeed.

"It is rare to meet someone who has the same appreciation of atmosphere, colour, texture
and the magic that can be created in a garden, and in John we have found someone who
understands exactly what we were trying to do." Alan Titchmarsh MBE 2002
