John Dyer presents Tall Ships Print to Falmouth Town Council

A COLOURFUL reminder of the Funchal 500 Tall Ships Regatta is to adorn the walls of Falmouth's council chamber thanks to the generosity of local artist, John Dyer.

His painting, Tall Ships and Small Ships, was used on the front cover of the official Tall Ships programme and he also donated several prints to the event's organisers.

Carrick District Council and the Tall Ships organising committee in Falmouth have since presented the paintings to several of the regatta's lead partners, including Falmouth Town Council. The painting was accepted by the town's mayor, Mike Varney.

The print was presented by Carrick tourism officer, Samantha Groom, and John Hick, chairman of the Falmouth organising committee.

Sam said: "John Dyer gave the prints as a thank-you. He really was fantastic. It was really generous of him and enabled us to give everyone a thank-you."
