Italian / French Garden Tour and Exhibition

John Dyer & Joanne Short Exhibition

& Exclusive Garden Tour of the Hanbury Gardens in Italy & Clos du Peyronnet garden in France

Eden's painter in residence John Dyer and artist Joanne Short invite you to join them in France & Italy for a glass or two of wine at the private view of their spectacular new exhibition and to take a tour of the gardens that inspired it. The artists are resident artists' of the Hanbury Gardens in Italy and the gardens at Clos du Peyronnet in France.

"These two gardens are amongst the best on the Mediterranean and the combination of the fantastic plants set against the shimmering Mediterranean sea is quite intoxicating. This is a real Eden with the roof off experience and a painters dream environment. We really hope that the combination of touring the gardens before previewing our new exhibition of paintings will be an unforgettable experience and that you will be able to connect to our vision by becoming immersed in the pure spectacle of the Côte d'Azur. Our new paintings will be the combination of a years work and will be released at the same moment that the gardens are at their peak."

The Hanbury Gardens at Mortola in Italy cover an area of approximately 18 hectares and tumble down towards the sparkling sea. They are at their peak in the first week of April and are cultivated with exotic and Mediterranean plants which have survived a remarkable history. The garden was founded in 1867 by Sir Thomas Hanbury and is one of the most important botanic gardens in Europe.  Carolyn Hanbury is resident at the gardens and it is planned that she will be available to talk to Eden friends about the history of this fascinating garden during the tour.

The second garden is in Menton in France. Clos du Peyronnet is a much smaller garden but is one of Menton's most famous. Planted by three generations of the Waterfield family and designed to be painted this garden offers a sumptuous array of plants. William Waterfield will be on hand for a tour of the garden. It is the only garden in Menton to have remained the private property of a family which have been tending it with passion since the beginning of the century and it is a very special place.

Exhibition dates to be confirmed.
