Postcard from an Artist. Cornwall Today feature The John Dyer Gallery for Christmas

John Dyer drops us a line from his Falmouth studio

Fending off the winter blues with an explosion of colour are paintings by John Dyer. His fun and humorous vision of Cornwall is well known - splay footed seagulls being his signature subject. For this latest collection he has painted a series of work from Tresco to Falmouth that share a celebratory feel for the festive season. Christmas tree’s and carols, crackers and lights thread through his colourful compositions. These are paintings that make you smile – a reaction all too often forgotten in the high brow art world. For John and his devoted audience they know that a smile means a lot.

‘Magical Christmas Art Exhibition’ by John Dyer and Joanne Short opens 8th December at The John Dyer Gallery in Falmouth - Online & by Appointment. Tel: 0777 339 7503

The exhibition will also be the venue for the launch of John Dyer's new print range from his publishers in Japan.
