Falmouth Art Gallery purchase Joanne Short Painting for their public art collection for the nation.

The award winning public Falmouth Art Gallery in Cornwall has purchased a Joanne Short original painting to join the nations permanent collection of art.

The important oil painting by Joanne Short was purchased by Falmouth Art Gallery for their permanent collection in 2013.

The director of Falmouth Art Gallery draws strong links between the work of Bryan Pearce and Joanne Short and this painting fits into the timeline of contemporary colourist and naive art in Cornwall. Joanne's striking use of line and colour and her careful use of space make her one of Cornwall's finest contemporay artists. Joanne has ben painting and exhibiting in Cornwall and London for over 25 years and it is fitting that an original piece of her work is now held in the public collection.

The painting is part of Falmouth Art Gallery’s permanent collection and can be viewed on request and at selected exhibitions.
