Coast Feature The Art of Joanne Short

In the April Issue of the National Magazine Coast you will find a painting by Joanne Short featured in the Coast Essentials Section.

The Art of Joanne Short

"One can't be anything but inspired by a beautiful seaside town like Fowey. My paintings hopefully capture the colour and light exuding from the river. A joy to paint and hopefully to behold.”

There is a quality of line and use of colour in Joanne Short's paintings that follows a tradition in Cornwall that includes the work of Bryan Pearce and Joan Gillchrest. Joanne is one of Cornwall’s best known contemporary painters.

“Her paintings have that rare quality of being able to transport me to those magical Cornish places of holiday dreams, magical light and brilliant flowers. They are optimistic without being misty-optic"
Alan Titchmarsh MBE
